Job summary

Renown-Health in Reno, NV is seeking a Resource Team Medical Assistant to support providers in back-office duties across Renown Medical Group and Urgent Care. The role requires travel to all facilities to cover vacancies, leave time, and sick calls.

You will greet patients, record vital signs, manage lab specimens, handle referrals, schedule tests, and liaise between patients and providers, ensuring questions are answered promptly.

Qualifications

• Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
• Two (2) years of experience in a provider office practice required. Multi-provider office practice experience highly preferred.
• Valid CA or NV Driver’s license.
• Current State of Nevada license for Office Laboratory Assistant or an application must be submitted within 90 days of employment. Failure to apply for and/or receive license within 90 days will result in discharge.
• Current AHA BLS/CPR required. Current CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, AMCA or EMT certification required.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, computer skills to complete online learning requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider in all back office duties including escorting patients to examination rooms.
• Take vital signs as per guidelines and maintain examination rooms’ stock.
• Document patient communications and prepare lab specimens for processing.
• Fill out referral forms and schedule tests; file into patient charts.
• Return calls in order of importance; float to all facilities as needed.
