Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Medical Assistant to support outpatient clinic operations. The role combines clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, EKGs, pregnancy tests, and specimen collection with administrative duties including answering phones, scheduling, updating EMR records, and processing patient payments.

The person will liaise with nurses and providers, verify insurance for authorizations, and ensure accurate documentation for ongoing patient care in multiple clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of Medical Assistant program preferred.
• CMA/CCMA or CNA with current certification preferred.
• Proficiency in measuring vital signs and documenting data in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and greet patients; schedule appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and carry out EKGs and pregnancy tests as required.
• Update and upload patient information into the EMR; maintain accurate records.
• Assist with administrative tasks and support front desk staff as needed.
• Collect patient payments and coordinate with insurance for prior authorizations.
