Qualifications

• 1 year Medical assistant preferred
• 2 years Clerical/customer service experience – ideally in a health care related industry
• 1 year experience with third party payors and computer data entry of patient demographics preferred

Responsibilities

• Receives and directs messages to appropriate personnel and coordinates with departments, physicians, patients and outside organizations.
• Maintains patient scheduling and sets appointments.
• Interviews and completes patient registration.
• Keys patient dispositions, diagnostic codes, patient orders, charges and payments in the EMR.
• Performs cashiering for co-pays or other payments and may handle routine clerical duties.
• Performs basic laboratory procedures including venipuncture and taking vital signs.
• Administers medications as directed by a licensed physician.
• Collects routine laboratory specimens as directed by the provider.
• Provides excellent customer service for patients, families and treatment team.
