Job summary

Great Southwestern Construction, Inc., a MYR Group, Inc. company, is seeking a Traveling Apprentice Lineman to construct and maintain electrical lines including underground, transmission, and substations.

Qualifications

• Transmission line and substation experience preferred
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers, and groundwork with utility crews is required
• Must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR Parts 382 and 391
• Possession of a valid Commercial driver's license Class A preferred

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain all phases of electrical line construction to include: underground, transmission, substations and wind farms
• Establish OSHA and customer safety requirements
• Plan and initiate projects
• Set towers and poles
• Maintain and repair overhead distribution or transmission lines
• String new wire or maintain old wire
• Install and maintain insulators
• Install and maintain transformers and other equipment
• Assembly and erection of substation
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Other duties as assigned
