Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent and potentially supervise a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices. The role covers installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, conductors, and equipment, with opportunities to learn other divisions such as low voltage and fire alarm.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, wiring, terminating devices, and mentoring on site while complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Own tools as required by company policy and able to use them.
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime.
• Interest in learning job-related material on the job via instruction and observation.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, brand circuits and feeders.
• Demonstrate knowledge of circuiting and read project specs.
• Read blueprints and schematics to lay out small areas from drawings.
• Determine wire, conduit and junction box sizing.
• Troubleshoot lighting and power circuits at a basic level.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on site.
