Job summary

Insight Enterprises is seeking a Traveling Installation Technician for fleet deployments. The role is a 12-month W2 contract, travel-heavy, with a schedule Monday through Friday and home on weekends.

Pay is $30/hour, requiring hands-on installation of 12-volt technology in various fleet vehicles and customer-facing responsibilities. The technician will train in our client’s hardware/software, bring personal tools, and ensure safe work around vehicle electrical systems while solving issues with

Qualifications

• Experience deploying 12-volt technology in fleet vehicles.
• Willingness to travel 100% and work Mon–Fri.
• Provide your own hand tools for on-site installations.
• Basic networking knowledge and hardware setup.

Responsibilities

• Deploy 12-volt tech in fleet vehicles.
• Train on installation and use of client hardware/software.
• Provide your own tools (wrenches, sockets, cutters, soldering iron, drill).
• Demonstrate troubleshooting with a multimeter.
• Work with vehicle electrical systems safely.
• Solder wires and crimp connections.
• Basic networking concepts; cradlepoint router knowledge a plus.
• Experience with cars, SUVs, RVs.

Traveling Installation Technician, Fleet

Employment Type:12-month W2 contract that has opportunity to convert to fulltime.

Location: 100% travel within the US, Mondays through Friday. You will be home every weekend.

Pay: $30/hour

Position Overview

The Installation Technician has a customer-facing role with primary duties of deploying 12-volt technology solutions in fleet vehicles.

What you’ll do at Insight

• Technicians will be deploying 12-volt technology solutions in fleet vehicles.
• Will be responsible to go through training for proper installation and use of our client’s hardware & software.
• Provide your own tools EG: (wrenches, sockets, wire cutters/strippers, portable soldering iron, portable drill, etc.)
• Demonstrate competence in troubleshooting which includes use of tools such as a multimeter
• Be comfortable working with vehicle electrical systems and know the basics of working safely around 12-volt technology.
• Know proper methods of soldering electrical wires and crimp connections
• Strong acumen for network cabling and network devices (basic networking principles)
• Cradle point router or equivalent configuration knowledge a plus
• Experience working in cars, SUVs or RV/Campers
• Reliable personal transportation, ability to fly and travel 100% during the week (Monday through Friday). You will be home on the weekends.
• Work both independently and in a team
