Job summary

Insight is seeking an Installation Technician for a 12-month W2 contract to deploy 12-volt technology in fleet vehicles. The role is 100% travel within the US, Monday through Friday, with weekends at home.

You will receive training on installation and use of client hardware and software, and must provide your own tools. Strong troubleshooting, soldering, and basic networking skills are valued, with potential to convert to full-time.

  • Understand basic networking; configure cradle point router is a plus.
  • Travel 100% during the week; home on weekends.
  • Work independently and in a team.

Employment Type

12-month W2 contract that has opportunity to convert to fulltime.

Location

100% travel within the US, Mondays through Friday. You will be home every weekend.

Pay

$30/hour

Position Overview

The Installation Technician has a customer-facing role with primary duties of deploying 12-volt technology solutions in fleet vehicles.

What you’ll do at Insight
  • Technicians will be deploying 12-volt technology solutions in fleet vehicles.
  • Will be responsible to go through training for proper installation and use of our client’s hardware & software.
  • Provide your own tools EG: (wrenches, sockets, wire cutters/strippers, portable soldering iron, portable drill, etc.)
  • Demonstrate competence in troubleshooting which includes use of tools such as a multimeter
  • Be comfortable working with vehicle electrical systems and know the basics of working safely around 12-volt technology.
  • Know proper methods of soldering electrical wires and crimp connections
  • Strong acumen for network cabling and network devices (basic networking principles)
  • Cradle point router or equivalent configuration knowledge a plus
  • Experience working in cars, SUVs or RV/Campers
  • Reliable personal transportation, ability to fly and travel 100% during the week (Monday through Friday). You will be home on the weekends.
  • Work both independently and in a team

Travel Requirements
  • This role requires 100% weekly travel – Monday through Friday (including airplane travel)
