Basic Concepts, Inc, a leader in portable spill containment systems, located in Plant City, FL, is seeking a Traveling Field Service Technician. The ideal candidate is hardworking, reliable, self-motivated, with good communication and organizational skills. The role requires excellent hand dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety standards. The primary goal is to ensure effective installation of spill containment devices across the U.S.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret project drawings for installation of spill containment materials and accessories.
  • Travel within the U.S., often for several weeks at a time, to various customer sites.
  • Operate hand and power tools such as tape measures, utility knives, and sprayers.
  • Work with materials including vinyl, foam, aluminum, steel, and polymers.
  • Conduct inspections and perform repairs as needed.
  • Communicate project updates, site conditions, and equipment issues to your Crew Lead.
  • Complete ongoing safety training (e.g., Respiratory, Forklift, Confined Space, OSHA 10).
  • Maintain accurate documentation including timesheets, expense reports, and installation reports.

Requirements:

  • Experience with spray containment preferred but not required.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to grow with the company.
  • Adherence to safe work practices at all times.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work in a flexible, traveling team environment (company covers travel costs).
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a Class A license.
  • Availability to be on the road for 3 to 6+ weeks at a time.

Working Conditions:

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Use ladders at least 10 feet high.
  • Stand, walk, bend, twist, and squat for up to 10 hours daily.
  • Wear PPE including FR clothing, knee pads, cut-resistant gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
  • Work outdoors in high heat and cold conditions.
  • Travel requirements are 99%.
