Basic Concepts, Inc, is the world leader in portable spill containment systems. In Plant City, FL, we are seeking a Traveling Field Service Technician. A successful applicant should be hardworking, self-starting, reliable, and possess good communication and organizational skills. The role requires great hand dexterity, attention to quality, and the ability to work independently while following all health and safety standards. The primary goal is to ensure the effective installation of secondary spill containment devices across the United States.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and understand project drawings to perform installation of spill containment materials and accessories.
• Travel within the United States, often for several weeks at a time, to various customer sites.
• Utilize hand and power tools such as tape measures, utility knives, sprayers, etc.
• Work with materials including vinyl, foam, aluminum, steel, and polymer.
• Conduct inspections and perform repairs as needed.
• Communicate project progress, site conditions, and equipment issues to your Crew Lead.
• Complete ongoing safety training, including Respiratory Training, Forklift Certification, Confined Space, OSHA 10, etc.
• Complete paperwork such as timesheets, expense reports, and site installation reports.

Requirements

• Experience with spray containment preferred but not required.
• Positive attitude and willingness to grow with the company.
• Adherence to safe work practices at all times.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a flexible, traveling team environment (travel costs covered by the company).
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Class A license.
• Availability for extended periods on the road (3-6 weeks or more).

Working Conditions

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Use ladders at least 10 feet high.
• Bend, twist, squat, stand, and walk for up to 10 hours daily.
• Wear PPE including FR clothing, knee pads, cut-resistant gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
• Work outdoors in high heat and cold conditions.
• Travel 99% of the time.
