Job summary

MasTec is seeking an Industrial Field Engineering Intern to assist the Project Manager on construction projects across the United States. Expect travel to project sites with weekly subsistence and a strong emphasis on administrative support, scheduling, and documentation.

The role involves partnering with Field Engineers and the PM team to monitor project status, support bids, RFIs, and invoicing, and to adapt to project requirements for 6–12 months.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4-year university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and execute independently, maintain excellent rapport with team members

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with administering accounting, job costs, and WIP updates.
• Secure drawings and specifications to support bidding and subcontractor selection, and coordinate between project team and contractor.
• Support Field Change Order and Request for Information (RFI) processes.
• Support development and preparation of Schedule of Values and invoices.
• Ensure engineering drawings, specifications, and docs received at site are filed and distributed; deliver drawings to the Craft Superintendent.
• Record and transcribe meeting minutes and liaise with client project staff.
• Provide admin support to Pre-construction, Estimating and Procurement departments as needed.
