Job summary

MBA Energy & Industrial seeks a Traveling HSEQ Inspector to serve as the independent eyes of the VPs of Operations in the field, auditing health, safety, environmental and quality performance across active MBA sites. You will report findings directly to leadership and ensure compliance with project plans and owner requirements.

The role requires extensive travel, onsite audits, and incident investigations, with the ability to work outdoors in diverse climates and terrains.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction safety, QA/QC inspection or HSEQ role on industrial, oil & gas, or energy projects
• Travel 80% or more, living on the road nationwide, with frequent flights and overnight stays
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction required, OSHA 29 CFR 1926/1910 knowledge
• H2S Clear and current First Aid/CPR or ability to obtain before first assignment
• Ability to read multi-discipline project drawings and documents
• Strong written reporting skills and proficiency with tablets, Microsoft 365 and photo documentation
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• TWIC where applicable if required

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled and unannounced site safety audits with corrective actions and close-out dates
• Verify compliance with MBA Site-Specific Safety Plan and subcontractor safety programs
• Audit high-risk activities (excavation, confined space, hot work, lifting, LOTO, heights, H2S)
• Lead or support incident investigations and track recordables/near misses
• Deliver site orientations, toolbox talks, stand-downs and hold stop-work authority
• Complete written inspection reports with photos and open items for VPs of Operations
