Qualifications

• Two years minimum verifiable mechanical work experience or training.
• One-year minimum verifiable training and/or experience with gasoline and diesel engines on large, industrial equipment.
• Three months minimum of verifiable training and/or experience with electrical and/or gas welding.
• One-year minimum verifiable training and/or experience with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic diagrams and schematics.
• Able to meet travel requirements.
• Able to read, write and communicate English.
• Able to lift and carry up to 60lbs occasionally.
• Possess a valid Class B CDL minimum, Class A upon requirement.
• Able to distinguish colors.
• Able to differentiate verbal and non-verbal sounds and communicate in work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing the fleet of equipment operated by BNSF.
• Disassembling, repairing, modifying, manufacturing, overhauling, and troubleshooting roadway maintenance equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fuel systems, driveline components.
• Operating equipment and using a variety of manual, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools, welders and torches.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment under extreme weather and working conditions.
