Job summary

Sequoia Services is seeking a Traveling Heavy Civil Superintendent for the Dam Division in North Carolina with extensive travel across the Southeast. You will lead field teams, enforce safety, and coordinate with project managers to meet schedules and budgets.

The role requires 10+ years in heavy civil construction, ability to read drawings and specs, and OSHA certifications; travel readiness is essential for project coverage.

• Preferred experience in concrete and geotechnical construction.
• Understanding of various soil classifications.
• Strong communication skills, with a collaborative approach to ensuring task comprehension among team members.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Safety-focused, with preferred 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certifications.
• Physically capable of navigating job sites, including steep or rugged terrain.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction safety protocols.
• Ensure environmental and quality compliance on all projects.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to provide data for cost tracking and efficiency analysis.
• Review and interpret contract documents, including specifications, drawings, and designs.
• Work with estimating teams to build estimates prior and during construction.
• Schedule and manage construction activities, including crews, equipment, and subcontractors to provide the most efficiency.
• Review timesheets and phase codes.
• Monitor project schedules and budgets, taking necessary actions to keep projects on track with established milestones.
• Maintain discipline in field operations while managing schedules and budgets effectively.
