Job summary

Sequoia Services LLC is seeking a Traveling Heavy Civil Superintendent for the Dam Division to lead safety, environmental, and quality control on Southeast dam projects. Based in North Carolina, you will travel extensively, directing crews, subcontractors, and vendors while coordinating with project teams.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in heavy civil construction, strong reading of drawings and specs, and proven supervision of multiple crews.

Qualifications

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specs.
Willingness to travel extensively and relocate as needed.
Proven work ethic and reliability to set a standard on site.
Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple activities efficiently.
Excellent communication and collaboration with project teams.
Verified safety focus with OSHA certifications preferred.
Physically capable of navigating demanding job sites.
Experience supervising multiple foremen, crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
Knowledge of water diversion, cofferdams, dewatering, and soil classifications.

Responsibilities

Oversee construction safety protocols on all projects.
Ensure environmental and quality compliance throughout works.
Collaborate with Project Manager for cost tracking and efficiency analysis.
Review and interpret contract documents, specs, and drawings.
Work with estimating teams to build/prepare estimates during construction.
Schedule and manage activities, crews, equipment, and subcontractors for efficiency.
Review timesheets and phase codes for accuracy.
Monitor schedules and budgets, taking action to meet milestones.
Maintain field discipline while controlling schedules and budgets.
