Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Field Service Technician who thrives in a hands-on, travel-friendly role. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain AC/DC drive systems while delivering exceptional customer service in diverse customer sites across North America.

The position offers independent work, strong safety standards, and opportunities to train operators on drive operation and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent field experience required.
• Hands-on experience with VFDs, DC drives, or motor controls.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics, motors, PLC interfaces, and industrial networks.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools (multimeters, scopes, megohm meters, data loggers).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues with drive systems and power electronics.
• Adjust drive parameters, perform firmware updates, and tune systems.
• Analyze faults and perform root-cause analysis.
• Install, configure, and commission VFDs and related components.
• Provide customer guidance and on-site training.
• Ensure safety standards and NFPA/OSHA compliance.
