Insight Global is seeking Traveling Field Service Technicians to join our client’s team in Ashburn, VA. The role involves installing and modifying electrical and mechanical components, performing basic testing and commissioning, and supporting field installations.

Ideal candidates have a technical degree and 5+ years in manufacturing, data centers, or field service with LV/MV switchgear commissioning, and must be able to travel up to 75% with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Install and modify electrical and mechanical components and subassemblies (panelboard interiors, circuit breakers, bus bars, switchgear sections, control components).
• Test and commission modified assemblies, switchboards, control panels, and power products; troubleshoot electrical circuits and networking equipment.
• Support preventive maintenance, field installations, and equipment modifications; collaborate with project management and manufacturing teams.

Job description

A client of Insight Global is looking for multiple Traveling Field Service Technicians to join their team out of Ashburn, VA. This role involves attending project meetings as needed and coordinating with contractors and clients to support field activities. Responsibilities include the installation and modification of electrical and mechanical components and subassemblies such as panelboard interiors, circuit breakers, bus bars, switchgear sections, control components, power cabling, and control wiring. The position performs basic testing and commissioning of modified assemblies, switchboards, control panels, and power products, as well as troubleshooting electrical circuits and associated networking equipment. The role also supports preventive maintenance, field installations, and equipment modifications, while collaborating with technical project management and manufacturing teams to resolve product or commissioning issues and identify required field resources and replacement parts. Technical product support is provided throughout installation and post-installation activities. Pay Ranges from $44.00/hr-$60.00/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

A technical degree or equivalent and 5 yrs+ of experience working in a manufacturing environment, data center or field service role with commissioning of LV/MV electrical switchgears Must be a team player and have strong communication skills Ability to travel (75%).
