Job summary

Insight Global is seeking Traveling Field Service Technicians to join our client team in Ashburn, VA. You will coordinate with contractors and clients, support field activities, and install/modify electrical and mechanical components including switchgear and power panels.

Requirements include a technical degree or equivalent with 5+ years in manufacturing, data center, or field service, ability to travel 75%, read wiring diagrams, and willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have a technical degree or equivalent with 5+ years in manufacturing, data center or field service with LV/MV switchgear commissioning.
• Must be a team player with strong communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 75% and work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Experience with switchgear and electrical controls systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
• Military background; Data Center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and modify electrical and mechanical components and subassemblies such as panelboard interiors, circuit breakers, bus bars, switchgear sections, control components, power cabling, and control wiring.
• Perform basic testing and commissioning of modified assemblies, switchboards, control panels, and power products; troubleshoot electrical circuits and networking equipment.
• Support preventive maintenance, field installations, and equipment modifications; collaborate with project management and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and identify field resources and replacement parts.
• Provide technical product support during installation and post-installation activities.

A client of Insight Global is looking for multiple Traveling Field Service Technicians to join their team out of Ashburn, VA. This role involves attending project meetings as needed and coordinating with contractors and clients to support field activities. Responsibilities include the installation and modification of electrical and mechanical components and subassemblies such as panelboard interiors, circuit breakers, bus bars, switchgear sections, control components, power cabling, and control wiring. The position performs basic testing and commissioning of modified assemblies, switchboards, control panels, and power products, as well as troubleshooting electrical circuits and associated networking equipment. The role also supports preventive maintenance, field installations, and equipment modifications, while collaborating with technical project management and manufacturing teams to resolve product or commissioning issues and identify required field resources and replacement parts. Technical product support is provided throughout installation and post-installation activities.

Pay Ranges from $44.00/hr-$60.00/hr.Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Benefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings, paid leave as provided by applicable law.
