Job summary

Flare Construction is seeking a Fleet and Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support operations across the Western US, primarily Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and surrounding states. This traveling role works from a field service truck, keeping dozers, excavators, and heavy equipment running so crews stay productive.

Based in Coalville, UT, you may be assigned to projects far from home and expect 75–100% travel. Competitive hourly pay, per diem, and full benefits accompany a fast-paced, field-based environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience on fleet vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Independent field service and mobile repairs experience.
• Diagnose diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Willingness to travel to project sites; valid driver’s license.
• Current DOT medical card and OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment at sites and in the shop.
• Perform preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability across projects.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and cooling systems using tools and manuals.
• Respond to field repair calls and perform on-site fixes at active locations.
• Maintain service records and logs in the fleet system; assist with parts procurement.
