Job summary

ProAutomated is seeking a travel-focused field engineer to support data center startups and on-site integration. You’ll perform mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and lead startup and acceptance testing with customers across North America.

The role demands adaptability, strong problem-solving, and collaboration with engineers. You’ll undergo four weeks of paid training and then rotate on-site assignments with generous per diem and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical/mechanical/automation engineering.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Live within 50 miles of a major airport; own a personal vehicle within 45 days.

Responsibilities

• Support data center startups with on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks.
• Lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse and manufacturing systems.
• Collaborate with automation and controls engineers to test and validate systems on-site.
• Provide clear updates to customers and project teams; travel on rotation schedules.
• Work with various customers and teams across North America.
