Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group USA company, seeks a Traveling Executive Chef to provide culinary leadership across acute care facilities in MA, CT, ME, VT, RI and NY. The role requires day and overnight travel, with preference for candidates based in MA, NY or CT.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
• Three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience, preferably in healthcare or institutional foodservice environments.
• Experience supporting multiple locations or interim/turnaround capacity strongly preferred.
• Hands‑on culinary leadership skills with ability to assess operations and implement best practices.
• Experience managing high‑volume, complex foodservice operations.
• Healthcare catering and institutional experience desirable.
• Knowledge of foodservice trends with focus on quality, production efficiency, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• ServSafe certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on culinary leadership and operational support across multiple acute care facilities as needed.
• Plan, develop, and execute regular and modified menus in line with physician orders and nutritional requirements.
• Ensure standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards for quality and fiscal accountability.
• Complete and oversee daily production documentation; evaluate products for quality and patient satisfaction.
• Train, mentor, and coach culinary teams on food prep, safety, equipment operation, and sanitation.
• Establish cleaning and preventive maintenance programs for kitchen areas and equipment.
• Manage inventory processes, ensuring product availability while controlling costs.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and Joint Commission requirements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and participate in departmental meetings and training.
• Collaborate with on‑site leadership and regional management to support goals and continuous improvement.
