Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, seeks a Traveling Executive Chef to deliver culinary leadership and operational expertise across acute care facilities across MA, CT, ME, VT, RI, and NY. Role requires day and overnight travel with preference for MA, NY, or CT bases.

The Traveling Executive Chef will oversee menus, standard recipes, production documentation, and training across regions to ensure quality, safety, and patient satisfaction while maintaining cost controls.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience, preferably in healthcare or institutional foodservice.
• Experience supporting multiple locations or interim/turnaround scenarios is highly preferred.
• Strong hands-on culinary leadership skills with ability to assess operations and implement best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on culinary leadership across multiple acute care facilities as business needs arise.
• Plan, develop, and execute regular and modified menus in line with dietary orders and guidelines.
• Ensure standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation meet quality and cost targets.
• Maintain production documentation, temperature logs, and waste tracking; evaluate products for quality and patient satisfaction.
• Train, mentor, and coach culinary teams on food preparation, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Establish and reinforce cleaning and preventive maintenance programs for kitchen equipment and spaces.
• Manage inventory processes to ensure product availability while controlling costs and staying within budget.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission requirements.
