Job summary

TelCom Construction LLC in Dubuque, IA is seeking a Traveling Telecom Drill Bores Operator to operate drill equipment for installing underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure. You will determine bore paths, locate utilities, and develop bore schedules while safely handling equipment across various sites.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement (or willingness to obtain), driving credentials, and experience with drilling equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Must have a valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience operating drilling equipment and understanding bore path design.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all required equipment to complete tasks.
• Verify utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Use mud mixing systems as part of drilling operations.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Perform site setup, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
• Work in all weather conditions.

What you’ll do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities

• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks

• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path

• Utilize “Mud” mixing systems

• Develop and maintain a bore schedule

• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance

• Perform work in all weather conditions

• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older

• Authorization to work in the United States for this company

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience

• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record

• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it

• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely : work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds

• Occasionally : use ladder, keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Traveling Drill Bores Operator is $24.00 - $35.00 .
