Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services, LLC in Oklahoma City seeks an experienced Shop/Traveling Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks across several states. The role includes travel to job sites in OK, TX, LA, KS, and CO and provides a company service truck, hotel accommodations, and per diem.

The position requires strong diagnostic skills, independent field work, fabrication and welding, and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably working on medium- or heavy-duty trucks.
• Strong hands-on diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems.
• Working knowledge of diesel aftertreatment and DEF systems.
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Fabrication and welding experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a DOT physical.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel frequently across multiple states.
• Verifiable employment history and hands-on mechanical experience.
• ASE certifications.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing specialized equipment, including Hi-Rail gear and spray systems.

Responsibilities

• Travel to job sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks, skid steers, and related equipment.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on: Diesel engines and transmissions; Electrical systems and wiring; Hydraulic systems; Emissions and aftertreatment systems, including DEF; Air conditioning systems; Hi-Rail gear and spray systems.
• Use diagnostic scan tools, software, multimeters, pressure gauges, and other testing equipment to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance, routine servicing, and emergency repairs.
• Complete fabrication, welding, and cutting as needed.
• Maintain service truck organization, tools, parts inventory, and accurate repair documentation.
• Communicate repair updates and equipment needs to management.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable DOT regulations.
• Work extended hours when needed and perform repairs in varying weather conditions.
