Role Overview

The primary role of the Dental Assistant is to support the success of the clinicians through effective delivery of the Perfect Patient Experience (PPE), thus creating a Patient for Life (PFL). Dental assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, including preparing patients for oral examinations, assisting in treatments, and maintaining a sterile environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform functions in accordance with the applicable state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
• Participate actively in PPE, focusing on patient needs and concerns.
• Escort patients and facilitate communication between patients and staff.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment, sterilize instruments, and prepare for procedures.
• Assist with radiographs, intra-oral pictures, and tray setups.
• Support patient education on oral health and recordkeeping.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are maintained and available.
• Participate in team meetings and uphold company culture and standards.
• Comply with all regulatory and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; specific state-mandated training and licensing.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for Specialty Dental Assistants.
• Preferred: One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school.
