Overview

Main Street Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics of South Broward is hiring a Traveling Orthodontic Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for both staff and patients.

Note: Candidates must have prior dental ortho assisting experience to be considered.

Hours

Mon-Thurs 8:45 AM - 5:00 PM; Fridays 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM (1st Friday of the month)

Position Overview

As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care by assisting the doctor in orthodontic procedures, treatment planning, and patient education. You will help maintain a well-organized practice by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, assisting in procedures, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
• Assist dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency supplies, and contact information.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years prior orthodontic assisting experience
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• X-ray license in Florida
• Ability to travel to our sister office: Main Street Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics of Plantation (travel reimbursement included)
