Job summary

JSET Automated Technologies seeks an experienced Traveling Construction Project Manager to lead data center and mission-critical projects across the Midwest and Southern United States. This field-based role directs field staff, subcontractors, vendors, and overall execution from startup to turnover, with extensive travel.

The position emphasizes managing schedules, budgets, RFIs, and project documentation, while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction project management experience in electrical, controls, industrial, or mission-critical environments.
• Experience managing direct field labor, subcontractors, and active projects.
• Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, forecasting, procurement, and customer relationships.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and cost tracking.
• Experience using Procore or similar construction management software.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls and data center construction projects from startup through turnover.
• Direct and manage field technicians, foremen, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Establish daily and weekly priorities for field teams.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and overall project performance.
• Coordinate manpower planning, material procurement, and resource allocation; review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, billing, and project documentation.
• Track project risks, resolve field issues, and drive timely decision-making.
• Conduct regular jobsite walks and actively manage project execution in the field.
• Support commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.
• Maintain safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Utilize Procore and other project management tools to maintain project visibility and documentation.
