Job summary

Lemartec Corporation is seeking a Testing and Commissioning Specialist to support data center projects from design through closeout. You will execute startup, commissioning, testing, and training to ensure systems operate as designed and meet client expectations.

The role requires traveling up to 100% across the US, coordinating with Engineering, QA, and Operations, and leading daily POD meetings. Strong safety, scheduling, and drawing interpretation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
• 5+ years of experience in testing and commissioning projects.
• Experience in commissioning mechanical, electrical, and controls systems in mission-critical environments such as data centers.
• Understanding of utility systems (water, fuel, steam), electrical distribution systems, PLCs, DCS platforms, and rotating equipment (e.g., boilers, turbines).
• Working knowledge of safety regulations, testing protocols, project schedules, and commissioning milestones.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and system control narratives.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute the startup and commissioning plan from construction turnover through final handoff to operations.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures during transition from construction to commissioning.
• Ensure startup and commissioning deliverables meet site procedures, schedules, and safety protocols.
• Review drawings and specs to confirm provisions for flushing, cleaning, testing, and pre-commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA, and Operations to verify subcontractor equipment meets specs.
• Facilitate OEM and vendor training sessions for client personnel.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and vendor reps during start-up, commissioning, and testing.
• Organize and lead daily start-up POD meetings; prepare minutes.
• Support system turnover by scheduling system walkdowns and initial operations.
• Maintain daily logs of tests, readings, and equipment issues/resolutions.
• Coordinate commissioning-related subcontractor support with site construction management.
