Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a field-oriented professional to develop and manage a comprehensive job plan under the guidance of the Site Superintendent and in partnership with the Project Manager. You will review plans, coordinate with architects and owners, and ensure timely, on-schedule project execution.

This role emphasizes proactive resource management, adherence to safety policies, and effective communication with supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to drive successful project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in commercial construction.
• Knowledge of building codes and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of subcontractors' scopes of work and quality requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to proactively manage personnel issues.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret complex instructions and act with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to understand job requirements.
• Develop and manage a detailed job plan, including schedule and manpower.
• Procure tools, labor and some materials as needed.
• Interact with architects and owners to resolve issues.
• Communicate progress and issues to supervisors and clients.
• Manage labor costs by assigning crews and resources efficiently.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and General Superintendent on plan updates.
• Ensure work conforms to specifications and schedules.
