Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to oversee Texas projects from start to finish. This full-time role requires coordinating scheduling, procurement, manpower, and equipment, while traveling between sites across the state.

You will manage craft labor, subcontractors, and client communications, ensuring safety and quality standards are met on each phase of construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years' experience on ground-up commercial construction preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Knowledge of building codes, blueprints, and subcontractor scopes.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of a job site including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment.
• Supervise all direct labor and manage contracted work to ensure project completion.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on schedules and use look-ahead planning.
• Procure tools and materials to align with work schedules and site needs.
• Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are consistently applied.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, clients, and craft personnel to resolve issues and progress.
