Job summary

Rockford Construction is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to supervise the field construction on projects, coordinating with the Sr Superintendent, owners, architects, and engineers to meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety goals. The role requires frequent travel to project sites, including extended stays, with travel expenses covered per policy.

Home office is Grand Rapids, MI, while job site is Memphis, TN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or years of equivalent experience.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Must be comfortable with heights.
• Certifications in First Aid/CPR required.
• Certification in Storm Water Management required.
• 30 hours in OSHA training required.
• Some travel may be required throughout the Midwest region.
• Knowledge of CSI format preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, memos, blueprints, and floor plans.
• Proficient in using MS Outlook, Project, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Primary liaison with owner/architects/engineers for day-to-day activities.
• Develop and implement project schedules and site logistic plans.
• Review contract documents and budgets for compliance.
• Conduct thorough construction document reviews for constructability.
• Establish and enforce a project-specific quality control program.
• Verify contractor insurance before work commences.
• Develop and manage overall project schedules to meet critical path.
• Maintain weekly updates to project management software.
• Coordinate daily activities across trades and resolve on-site issues.
• Provide 3-week look-ahead for owner and trade meetings.
• Monitor progress to align with the work plan.
