Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent I/II to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities across a major project. Travel up to 100% is required; this is not a remote position, and salary is determined by experience and location.

Responsibilities include schedule development, safety oversight, and leadership of diverse teams to successfully deliver $500M+ construction programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Willing to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedule.
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability; coordinate with design engineers.
• Develop and manage project schedule and site logistics; collaborate with senior superintendents.
• Coach, supervise, and develop team members; conduct orientations, site meetings, and interviews.
• Ensure proper task coding; lead progress tracking and team training; conduct career discussions.
• Build effective relationships across diverse backgrounds and levels of the organization.
• Lead by example with coaching, feedback, and performance management.
• Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance; pursue improvements.
