Job summary

Dennis Group is seeking a Safety Manager to contribute to the development, management, and implementation of a Health and Safety Program across our vertical industrial construction projects. The role requires knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management, accident investigation, and training, with responsibilities spanning the safety practices for all personnel on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, risk management, or construction is required. Candidates enrolled in a Bachelor program will be considered for internship opportunities.
• 4-7 years of experience overseeing safety activities on construction projects.
• 4-7 years of work experience in developing, implementing, and coordinating health and safety training and activities for construction projects.
• 4-7 years of work experience in performing construction job site safety inspections and investigations related to safety and health for the company.
• OSHA training certifications and other professional certifications.
• Ability to travel to job sites throughout North America; travel is 75%+ when not stationed on a jobsite.
• Proficient in MS Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Sound judgment and independent decision making; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing health and safety program.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating health and safety training and activities.
• Must be familiar with federal, state, and local safety laws to ensure compliance.
• Compile incident rate data on injuries and accidents.
• Prepare and deliver safety toolbox talks and safety training topics for contractors.
• Prepare, implement and enforce Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Activities Hazard Analysis (AHAs).
• Attend and prepare safety actions for pre-construction conferences and meetings.
• Conduct and document Jobsite Safety Observations.
• Review subcontractor safety pre-qualification submittals.
• Collaborate with Construction Managers and Sr Safety Managers to establish site safety procedures.
• May act as full-time on-site safety coordinator for projects as required.
• Review safety programs with client representatives and governmental agencies.
• Research construction safety best practices.
• Support talent growth within the organization.
• Educate and provide training to all levels on accident prevention procedures.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to a subordinate group as directed.
