Job summary

Elford, Inc is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, with travel to sites as needed. You will coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep projects moving and on budget.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, clear communication, and proactive risk management while mentoring junior staff and fostering client relationships across markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Five or more years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience managing projects for a general contractor.
• Willingness and ability to travel based on project assignments.
• Strong knowledge of project financials, scheduling, contracts, and construction operations.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction technology.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience in healthcare, multifamily, education, commercial, industrial, or interior construction is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from planning and preconstruction through completion and closeout.
• Lead project budgets, schedules, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Manage contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, procurement, and project documentation.
• Partner with the Superintendent to maintain safety, quality, schedule, and production goals.
• Lead owner and subcontractor meetings and provide clear project updates.
• Identify potential risks and develop solutions before they affect the project.
• Support and mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and trade partners.
