Job summary

Elford, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to grow a career in commercial construction with hands-on experience across multiple markets.

This traveling role supports projects from preconstruction through closeout, alongside Project Managers and Superintendents in markets such as Ohio, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. You will gain exposure to field and office tasks, collaborate with diverse teams, and develop skills in scheduling, budgeting, and cost control while traveling as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• At least one year of construction experience; internships count.
• Willingness to travel based on project needs.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in field and project office.
• Proficiency with construction software such as Procore or Bluebeam is helpful.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project coordination
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change documentation, meeting minutes, and project records
• Help maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost information
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and owners
• Review drawings and specifications and help identify potential issues
• Assist with procurement, material tracking, inspections, and project closeout
• Spend time in the field monitoring progress, quality, and safety
• Build relationships with project teams, clients, and trade partners

Elford is growing, and we’re looking for a Project Engineer who is ready to build a career in commercial construction while gaining experience across different projects and markets.

This is a traveling position for someone who enjoys being in the field, learning from experienced project leaders, and seeing how a project comes together from preconstruction through closeout. You’ll work alongside Project Managers and Superintendents while supporting projects throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and other markets based on project needs.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Comfortable working in both the field and project office
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar construction technology is helpful
• Valid driver’s license
