Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a motivated General Laborer to support industrial construction projects in the shop and field. The role involves traveling to customers in the Western US, performing hands-on labor, and aiding craft workers to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates have mid-level to experienced construction backgrounds, strength for physical work, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Mid-level to experienced in construction, not entry-level.
• Knowledge of processing, placing and compacting fill dirt.
• Experience with concrete forming, rebar tying, concrete pouring, screeding and finishing is highly desired.
• Heavy industrial construction experience highly desired.
• Experience operating backhoes, front end loader and skid steer.
• No formal qualification required, but a high school diploma is preferred.
• Physically able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, pull, push, climb, and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Communicates effectively.
• Works well independently and with a team.
• Construction math skills and quantity conversion.

Responsibilities

• Preparing construction sites, materials, and tools.
• Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Removing debris, garbage, and dangerous materials from sites.
• Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, etc.
• Assisting craft workers such as electricians, welders and underground utilities as needed.
• Transport and operate heavy machinery and equipment used on construction sites.
• Digging and backfilling trenches.
• Following instructions from project managers and supervisors.
• Following health and safety regulations.
• Completing required site tasks or safety training.
