Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a diligent General Laborer to support our industrial projects in the shop and field. You will perform construction-related manual tasks, travel to customer sites in the Western US, and help ensure equipment is ready and safe for operation.

The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work with a team, follow directions, and comply with health and safety rules. Prior construction experience is valued; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Mid-Level to Experienced in construction, not Entry-Level.
• Knowledge of processing, placing and compacting fill dirt.
• Knowledge of concrete forming, rebar tying, concrete pouring, screeding and finishing.
• Heavy Industrial Construction experience highly desirable.
• Experience operating backhoes, front end loader and skid steer.
• No formal qualification required, but a high school diploma is preferred.
• Handles the physical demands of the job including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
• Communicates effectively.
• Works well independently and with a team.
• Knows construction math including how to convert quantities and take measurements.
• Driving to jobs is a regular function of this role.
• Background and drug screening will be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sites, materials, and tools.
• Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Removing debris, garbage, and dangerous materials from sites.
• Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, etc.
• Assisting craft workers such as electricians, welders and underground utilities with their duties, if needed.
• Transport and operate heavy machinery and equipment used in construction sites.
• Digging and backfilling trenches.
• Following instructions from construction project managers and supervisors.
• Following all health and safety regulations.
• Completing site tasks or safety training as required.
