Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Cost Control Manager to plan, monitor, and control project costs across diverse construction projects. You will forecast costs, manage budgets, and produce financial reporting while coordinating with project, commercial, and procurement teams to identify risks and improve efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in cost control within construction, strong contract knowledge, and proficiency with Primavera P6/MS Project and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in cost control or project controls in construction.
• Experience managing costs for large-scale construction projects.
• Understanding of construction contracts (FIDIC or equivalent).
• Knowledge of cost control principles, budgeting and forecasting.
• Proficiency in cost control and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, CBS, and cost control procedures.
• Monitor actual costs against budgets and identify variances.
• Determine entitlement for changes.
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and earned value analyses.
• Review subcontractor payment applications and progress claims.
• Coordinate with planning to align cost data with schedules.
• Track commitments, expenditures, and change orders.
• Analyze cost trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Support contract administration including claims analysis and change management.
• Participate in value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
• Ensure accurate cost records for audits and closeout.
• Provide cost advice to project management and leadership.
• Assist in preparing final accounts and project closeout.
