Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray Construction, is seeking a Traveling Quality Control Technician to join its Concrete team in Louisville, KY. This travel-based role requires coordinating quality assurance on sites and ensuring conformance with project documents.

The ideal candidate will have a related degree or technical/associate training and 2–5 years’ progressive concrete construction experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 100%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or technical/associate degree in a related field, plus 2–5 years of concrete construction experience.
• Must be willing to travel up to 100%.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify submittals prior to start of work and ensure installation aligns with contract documents.
• Audit contractor quality plans and maintain project documentation.
• Record daily audits and testing results for traceability.
• Conduct inspections, including delegated designs, and manage owner turnover relations.
• Review non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions with site management.
• Develop and track To-do/Punch List, and report status in meetings.
