Job summary

Guardian Real Estate Services is seeking a Roving Community Manager to oversee affordable properties in the Greater Portland Metro area. The role requires traveling 4-5 days per week to cover sites around Portland, OR, and possibly other parts of Oregon and Washington.

This position supervises staff and vendors, enforces policies, and ensures compliance with Fair Housing and landlord-tenant laws, while maintaining strong customer service and property performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience managing a multi-family community.
• At least one year of experience working in affordable housing (HUD, RD, or Tax Credit).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong mathematical skills and basic understanding of property budgets and financial accounting.
• Ability to speak, read and write in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner; both verbally and in writing.
• Available to travel to work at projects in/around Oregon and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Represent Guardian in a positive and professional manner at all times.
• Manage property operations in compliance with applicable laws and programs.
• Assist in operating income/expense budgets and capital budgets as directed.
• Analyze and report monthly financial statements and variances.
• Oversee staff and vendors to maintain resident satisfaction and property upkeep.
• Coordinate leasing efforts and ensure rent collections are accurate and timely.
