Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Commercial Construction Project Superintendent to oversee a portfolio of East Coast projects ranging from interior fit-outs to ground-up builds, typically valued at $1M–$10M. Based in Bel Air, MD, you will lead day-to-day field operations, manage subcontractors, schedules, and budgets, and serve as the main contact for clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in a project superintendent role for a commercial general contractor.
• Recent experience overseeing commercial construction projects with values exceeding $1 million.
• Proven history of traveling to and managing multiple project sites across different locations.
• Strong project management skills within a commercial construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of commercial construction projects from mobilization to completion, safely and within budget.
• Manage interior renovations and ground-up construction, typically $1–$10 million in value.
• Lead subcontractor selection, onboarding, and ongoing management to ensure quality workmanship.
• Create and update detailed project schedules and budgets, tracking progress and milestones.
• Coordinate progress meetings with teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to review timelines.
• Oversee permitting and inspections, coordinating with local authorities and ensuring code compliance.
• Manage construction document control, including RFIs, submittals, blueprints, and version control.
• Communicate proactively with clients, providing updates and maintaining strong relationships.
• Review blueprints and construction documents to guide field operations.
• Support estimating with field insights and pricing discussions as needed.
• Monitor job site safety and cleanliness, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Travel to various East Coast project sites as needed to oversee field activities.
