City of Onalaska is seeking seasonally employed recreation coaches to oversee program direction, coach participants, and supervise staff and volunteers. Responsibilities include organizing equipment, scheduling, safety, and communication with participants and staff.
The roles require high school or college level experience, sports knowledge, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. A valid driver’s license is required; the city is an Equal Opportunity Employer with a drug-free workplace.
Under the supervision of the Recreation Manager/Coordinator, the employee in this position is responsible for the overall direction and oversight of any portion associated with a recreation program. Independently provides direction to staff, coaches, volunteers, umpires/referees and spectators on issues relating to a program plan and structure, team selection, rule interpretation, schedules, equipment needs and use, safety of participants, umpires/referees, staff and spectators.
Wage range: $12.00 to $16.00 per hour for these seasonal, limited‑term positions. No benefits are associated with limited‑term positions.
