Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Urgent Care Float – WorkWell Health Center. This multi-skilled role provides direct and indirect patient care under a provider, including vital signs, documentation, and medication administration.

The position requires travel to urgent care centers within the market as directed by leadership. The candidate will work with EMR/EHR systems, support virtual visits, and assist with front desk tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant post-secondary education program preferred (varies by state).
• South Carolina-specific MA education options accepted if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the provider, contribute to the completion of patient chief complaints including vitals.
• Document patient/family needs and participate in planning and implementing care.
• Administer medications (oral, injection, topical) per orders and scope of practice.
• Assist with virtual health visits and prepare for scheduled appointments.
• Document in EMR accurately and maintain in-basket messages per physician instructions.
• Transport patients between facilities and support front desk workflows as needed.
• Follow up on orders, referrals, and follow-up visits; collect co-pays as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure supplies/equipment are functional.
