Job summary

Apploi is recruiting a Traveling Cook Manager to lead culinary operations across multiple healthcare and assisted living communities. You will travel between facilities, cook, supervise kitchen teams, ensure quality and safety, and deliver resident-focused dining experiences.

The role emphasizes menu execution, dietary compliance, staff training, inventory oversight, and collaboration with community leadership to improve meals and service while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education or equivalent
• Two years dietary experience
• Experience with senior adults or healthcare populations
• Able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
• ServSafe certification or equivalent food-safety credential
• Certified Dietary Manager preferred
• Experience traveling to cook across multiple locations

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and operational guidance to Executive Chefs, Kitchen Managers, cooks, and dining-service teams.
• Maintain consistent culinary standards, procedures, recipes, presentation, and service expectations across all locations.
• Support new community openings, leadership transitions, staffing shortages, and operational turnarounds as needed.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-presented, and served at appropriate temperatures.
• Promote hospitality-focused dining respecting resident preferences and dignity.
• Monitor resident feedback and address dining concerns.
• Conduct hands-on training with kitchen staff on techniques, sanitation, and menu execution.
