Apploi seeks a Traveling Cook Manager to lead culinary operations across multiple healthcare and senior living communities. The role travels to sites to provide hands-on leadership, coach local teams, and ensure quality, safety, and resident-focused dining experiences.

You will train staff, standardize menus, monitor inventory, and support new openings while ensuring compliance with health regulations and dietary needs for seniors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years dietary experience preferred.
• Experience with senior adults or healthcare populations.
• Able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• ServSafe certification or equivalent food-safety credential required.
• Certified Dietary Manager (strongly preferred).
• Experience managing multiple culinary locations or traveling to cook preferred.
• Inventory, purchasing, and menu management experience a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coach Executive Chefs, Kitchen Managers, cooks and dining-service teams.
• Maintain consistent culinary standards, procedures, recipes, presentation, and service across locations.
• Support new community openings and leadership transitions.
• Ensure meals are appealing, nutritious, properly portioned, and served at the correct temperature.
• Support menus meeting nutritional needs of senior residents.
• Oversee modified diets, texture-modified foods, and allergen-sensitive meals.
• Promote hospitality-focused dining respecting resident preferences and dignity.
• Monitor resident feedback and coordinate with leadership to resolve concerns.
• Provide hands-on training in cooking techniques, sanitation, and kitchen organization.
• Reinforce company policies and professional standards.
• Monitor inventory, purchasing, waste, and product utilization.
• Standardize ordering practices and vendor specs.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Maintain high standards for food safety and sanitation.
