Job summary

Canteen, a Compass Group company, is seeking a Traveling Chef to support culinary operations across multiple locations and client accounts. This hands-on role requires extensive regional travel and culinary leadership to elevate food quality, train staff, and drive new catering initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a culinary degree (preferred) and at least 5 years of leadership in catering or corporate dining, plus 2 years multi-site experience. Travel flexibility is essential.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of culinary leadership experience in catering, corporate dining, hospitality, restaurant, or contract foodservice.
• Minimum 2 years of multi-site culinary leadership experience.
• Experience managing food costs, labor costs, purchasing, and inventory controls.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively to support dining and catering operations across the region.
• Provide hands-on culinary leadership during launches, transitions, and events.
• Coach and mentor chefs and culinary teams on quality, presentation, and execution.
• Drive culinary innovation with new menus and catering offerings.
• Partner with local leaders to improve operations and guest satisfaction.
• Support menu development and catering execution across locations.
• Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and cost controls.
• Ensure HACCP, food safety, and sanitation compliance.
