Job summary

Weis Builders is seeking a Traveling Assistant Superintendent to support the Project Superintendent and Project Manager on diverse construction projects across the United States. This role combines on-site field work with office tasks and offers exposure to client relations, vendors, and project coordination.

The ideal candidate holds a 4-year construction-related degree, can travel as needed, and has experience with construction management software such as Excel, CMiC, or Procore.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with construction management software such as CMiC, Procore, or Excel.
• Strong teamwork and client-focused mindset.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with material take-offs, permits, labor reports, and 2-week look-ahead schedules.
• Build relationships with clients, architects, and vendors to support continuity and growth.
• Lead safety meetings, maintain safety logs, and address safety concerns.
• Communicate effectively with the project team to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, deliveries, and equipment as needed.
• Apply Quality Control best practices to meet quality standards.
• Complete all required paperwork professionally and promptly.
• Support cost control by tracking labor hours and PO logs.
• Gain knowledge of building codes and ensure compliance across activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with various project duties such as material take-offs, obtaining permits, preparing labor reports, and creating 2-week look-ahead schedules
• Build strong relationships with clients, architects, and vendors to support project continuity and growth

Requirements

• Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related construction field
• Experience with construction management software such as Excel, CMiC, Procore, or other similar project management tools
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build rapport with others
• A positive attitude and a client-focused mindset, with a keen awareness of client needs
• The ability to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining flexibility
• A strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and the ability to overcome challenges
• Professional composure, integrity, and a willingness to travel as needed

Travel Requirements and Work Location

This is a traveling position requiring flexibility to work at project locations throughout the United States. Assignments are based on business needs, may change over time, and may require relocation for the duration of a project.

Current and anticipated project locations include Hyattsville, Maryland; San Antonio, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Denver, Colorado; and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Project assignments typically last one to two years, depending on project schedules and business needs. Additional locations may be assigned as needs evolve.
