Job summary

Fresh Express in Salinas, CA, is seeking a Logistics Specialist to provide clerical support for receiving, shipping, and inventory control of commodities and related supplies. You will answer calls, coordinate with Procurement, and assist Harvest and suppliers on containers, labeling, and inventory.

Travel throughout the year within California and Arizona may be required; GMP and safety policies must be followed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and indoors under refrigerated conditions to 32F.
• Ability to greet customers verbally and communicate business information.
• Willingness to work day, swing, or night shifts across a 7-day week.

Job description

The Logistics Specialist provides clerical support to receive, ship, and inventory those commodities and related supplies.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Answer all phone calls in a timely manner and maintain a good customer relation.
• Maintain communications with Procurement office to capture any changes in lots, ranch or W/O
• Assist Harvest, outside suppliers and staff with any questions about containers, product labeling or inventory associated with the raw product program.

Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors as needed through all seasons and weather types including wind and rain, indoors under refrigerated conditions to 32F, wet, dusty, and noisy conditions.
• Ability to verbally greet customers and communicate business related information.
• Ability to work - day, swing, or night shifts within a 7-day workweek schedule.
• Full time positions are expected to travel throughout the year with the company's operations in California and Arizona.
• Follow all GMP and Safety policies.
• Ability to sequence and give instructions to receivers and loaders.
• Ability to effectively use office equipment and systems to include but not be limited to multi-line phones, voice mail, PC workstations with varying types of business software, copiers, fax, FedEx, and two-way radios, etc.
