Job summary

InterCon Construction is seeking a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction projects on-site. The role requires operating machines such as rubber-tire tractors, backhoes, and dozers to move dirt, place pipe, and install cables.

Applicants must hold a Class A CDL, be willing to travel, and demonstrate strong communication and attention to detail. The job includes safety-first practices and routine equipment maintenance as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 20+ pounds regularly.
• Strong communication and attention to detail; experience operating rubber tire tractor; experience operating other machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while operating heavy machinery.
• Locate underground utility services before starting work.
• Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
• Utilize different machines for placement and removal of dirt/debris.
• Use machinery to guide and install pipe and cable.
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with laborer jobs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
