Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with ARDMS certification and 2+ years of recent sonography experience for a general radiology/cardiology ultrasound role.

The position follows a day shift, Monday through Friday, with no on-call requirements. Candidates local to the area will be considered at the local rate, and travel or licensure support may be provided as applicable.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Must possess at least two of: AB, BR, FE, OB/GYN, PS, or RVT.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized ultrasound procedures.
• Work 5x8 hour day shift, Mon-Fri (8:00–4:30 or 7:45–4:15).
• No on-call requirements.
• Utilize RIS, LIS, EHR, Epic, and PACS systems.
• Exercise independent clinical judgment to deliver timely, accurate results.
• Build rapport with patients, families, and providers.

Requirements

• ARDMS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Must possess at least two of the following: Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Fetal Echocardiography (FE), OB/GYN, Pediatric Sonography (PS), or RVT certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent relevant sonography experience required
• Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some trauma and emergency response experience
• Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related healthcare information systems
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity across general ultrasound applications
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday, either 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM
• No call requirements
• Uses RIS, LIS, EHR, Epic, and PACS systems
• Works independently exercising sound clinical judgment on challenging diagnostic cases to deliver timely, accurate results
• Builds rapport with patients, families, and healthcare providers through effective communication and attentive care
• May perform specific procedures and/or orient other staff within the department
• Adheres to all regulations and policies to ensure patient privacy and safety
• Accepts local candidates at the local rate
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
• Returning staff/travelers must have a one-year separation before returning
