Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine Diagnostic Sonographer with RVT certification and 2+ years of ultrasound experience for a float role between two facilities. You will handle high-risk OB and general abdominal studies, supported by Epic EMR and GE/PACS systems.

The position requires travel readiness, adherence to facility protocols, and weekend coverage about once every 4–6 weeks. A current RVT/ARDMS credentials and BLS are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years ultrasound/sonography experience
• BLS certification required
• RVT certification required
• ARDMS credential in Abdomen, OBGYN, Pediatric, or MSK
• License required if applicable
• Two-year Allied Health education program or AS/bachelor's degree in ultrasound
• Vascular experience including arterial ultrasound, bypass grafts, and stents
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• OB/GYN imaging, general abdominal ultrasound, and vascular studies preferred

Responsibilities

• Float between an acute care hospital and an outpatient clinic setting
• Perform maternal fetal medicine and diagnostic sonography
• Daily caseload of ~45 visits per tech
• 4x8 hour day shifts, 32 hours per week
• Weekend coverage approx. once every 4–6 weeks
• No on-call requirements
• Utilizes Epic EMR
• Uses GE and PACS equipment
• May float within scope to sister facilities as needed
• Holiday coverage as needed by facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Candidates must live >50 miles from both facilities
• RTO submitted with application, no time off first week, max 10 days of RTO per assignment
• Scrub colors vary by facility

American Traveler is hiring a Maternal Fetal Medicine Diagnostic Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and RVT certification for a role requiring float coverage between two facilities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience required

• RVT certification required
• ARDMS credential required in Abdomen, OBGYN, Pediatric, or MSK (multiple specialties preferred)
• License required if applicable
• Completion of a two-year Allied Health education program, Associate of Applied Science degree from an accredited ultrasound program, or bachelor's degree
• Vascular experience required including arterial ultrasounds, bypass grafts, and stents
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Skills in OB/GYN imaging (1st and 2nd trimester), general abdominal ultrasound, and vascular studies preferred

Responsibilities

• Float between an acute care hospital and an outpatient clinic setting

• Daily caseload of approximately 45 visits per tech
• 4x8 hour day shifts, 32 hours per week with varied start times between 7:00-7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required approximately once every 4 to 6 weeks
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Uses GE and PACS equipment
• Perform maternal fetal medicine and high-risk OB sonography exams alongside general abdominal, vascular, and pediatric ultrasound studies
• May float within scope to sister facilities as needed to meet patient care demands
• Holiday coverage required as needed by facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from both facility locations to be eligible
• Finalized RTO must be submitted with application, with no time off during the first week of the assignment and a maximum of 10 days of RTO per assignment
• Scrub colors and dress code vary by facility and department
